Let's take it back to the 2020 season. Eagles finished 10-6 and locked up a wild card spot in the playoffs. Star WR Gordon Todd had an All-Pro season, racking up 60 catches for 1,461 yards and 13 touchdowns. DL Kevin Bassey had one of the greatest seasons ever for a defensive lineman, stalking QBs for 30 sacks. All is well in Philadelphia, right? Well, apparently not well enough for Jon Eagle. He proceeded to trade Todd, who many saw as the best WR in the XCFL, to Detroit. Speculation ran wild over what the issue was. Was Todd a bad locker room guy? (No.) Was Jon on some serious drugs? (Probably.) Then, 4 games into the 2021 season, he traded "Bane" Bassey, once again to Detroit. This marked the beginning of the Eagles' downfall. They finished the 2021 season at 3-13. They currently sit at 2-6 halfway through the 2022 campaign. What Jon's thought process was will probably remain an unsolved mystery, but the numbers speak for themselves:
With Todd & Bassey : 18-14
After trading Todd & Bassey : 5-19
Way to go, Jon.
