If you asked any Vikings fan a season ago what they thought of the team, you would likely get the same answers from all of them. Disappointing, embarrassing, disgraceful. A team that was so loaded with talent yet for seasons continued to be a laughing stock in the XCFL. After years of patience and some organizational changes last season, Vikings fans are finally seeing their team take a step in the right direction. The biggest story for the Vikings so far has been defense. Danielle Hunter, Byron Jones, Ronald Darby, just some of the names that week after week have stepped up in the key moments of the game. Byron Jones has been superb and has put any doubts about his signing to sleep. He currently leads the league with 5 INT, 3 fumble recoveries and has 2 TD to go along with it. Offensively, the Vikings are still looking to find a groove even though it has been productive at times. New face of the offense LC7 is averaging only 175 ypg and boasts justs 4 TD to 3 INT, as well as 1 rushing TD. Numbers that head coach Brad Lavers expects to improve but says he's not going to sweat it as long as they find ways to win games. Minnesota now sets its sights on the 2nd quarter of the season and moves forward in a position to potentially push for playoffs. However, nothing comes easy on the field and Lavers knows his team needs to keep showing up week in and week out. How far this team will go is yet to be seen but Vikings fans are excited to see where it all goes. After years of struggling and misery, this team has injected some hope back into the MIN faithful and it seems as though the worst is behind us.
